Court case haunts Hampton Roads filmmaker

The last time HRVA filmmaker Nate Parker made headlines, it was because “Birth of a Nation” broke records at Sundance. Today, Parker’s name is everywhere after news stories surfaced that he was acquitted of rape charges in a 1999 incident. The Herald reports that screenings of the film have been cancelled, possibly dashing  any Oscar hopes.
